What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-intrusive and relaxing holistic therapy, which awakens the body’s own healing ability. It is traditionally carried out on the feet, lower leg and hands. However, it may also be delivered through the face and ears. As with all holistic therapies, prevailing symptoms are treated within the concept of the whole person. This takes into account the mental, spiritual, emotional and physical aspects, as well as lifestyle factors such as diet and stress patterns.
The history of reflexology?
The art of reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt, India and China. In 1913, Dr William Fitzgerald introduced reflexology to the Western World as ‘zone therapy’. He believed that reflex areas on the hands and feet were linked to other areas and organs of the body. In the 1930’s Eunice Ingham further developed the therapy into what is now known as reflexology.
Is reflexology suitable for me?
Reflexology can be enjoyed by anyone, at any age. However, there may be occasional times when it is not suitable to receive a treatment. Our skilled practitioners would of course provide this guidance.
I am pregnant. Can reflexology benefit me?
